hooray for Diru!! XD
i got to see dir en grey live and concert and not be lied to bout starting time and not miss them. ^_^ i can die happy now.
anyways now to tell bout my trip:
i had to work saturday evening so that sucked cause it was 4 to midnight. i only managed to get bout 3 or 4 hours of sleep then i was to excited to sleep. then bout 6am
i got up and got stuff ready and made sure directions were good. since i no longer had to take a detour to pick up meagan.
i went to 7eleven to get ice for drink bag. meagan's roommate, kitty, dropped her off. got things straightened and set off for russell's house. got gas before stopping at russell's. managed to pass his house (stupid ballahack rd) turned round got him and set off... only to be stopped at the dominion and cedar intersection. either the bridge was up or there was an accident. we got tired of waiting and just drove down cedar and got on the expressway from battlefield.
we did what felt like tons of driving. then took the williamsburg exit for a pit stop. it looks so anicent there and we couldn't find any thing but what looked like million dollar houses. we found a CVS and stopped there. meagan was taken to the backroom to do stuff and told to push the red button before opening the door. she pushed it while opening the door and the alarm went off. possibly pissing off the staff. then we asked for directions how to get back to the interstate. a nice lady gave us easy to follow directions and we managed to make it back.
we got bored and played two car games which were amusing and we managed to kill a lot of time with them.
finally, we got to the place we wanted all that was left was finding the hotel. the best western baltimore west SUCKS!!! we checked in fine but the first and second time trying the keys didn't work with the door. so they changed the room to a room with non-working toilet and no hot water in the shower. meagan called down and they put us in a different room. i think they forgot they put us there cause in the morning one non-hotel worker opened the door looked in and then left. we had buncha time to kill so we got breakfast from mc donalds. cause it was close and there was no risk of getting lost.
we looked in the best buy for a while then the mall across the street but both of them sucked. we managed to kill almost two hours at the boring mall which according to meagan is worse and smaller then collisium mall.
we drove to downtown baltimore. we got lost. but not horribly so. we were able to get back on track real fast. on the way to the parking garage we saw a HUGE Barnes & Nobles it was awesome.
Note: more then a hoodie is needed when in Baltimore in winter time.
after we killed time in B&N and right before we left we met a girl who was also going to see Diru. she was awesome nice and told us bout the inside of the building.
then we made a pit stop at the car and then went to stand in line.
we found out you could go stand in line inside and not freeze so that was nice.
i saw mandy, faith, and taryn that was awesome. i didn't know they were gonna go see Diru... but then again i'm not really good at keeping in touch with people.
i blame it on my attention-span-of-a-2-yea-old. poor excuse but any way...
i think i may have pissed faith off cause when i looked in her direction (due to meagan pointing out) she looked unhappy.
we found the B&N girl and talked to her and her older male compainion (dad?)
we ended up staying with her and talking with her till we got in then everybody split up.
while we were talking there was a FYE guy selling pre-orders of Diru's new album and a chance to meet the band after the concert. even though i already pre-ordered their album (the limited ed. version. which i should receive in a few days. XD) still got one. (the way you found out if you one was the pre-order info was on a flyer and on the back if there was an "FYE" sticker you got to meet the band afterwards) i didn't win. T-T i gave the flyer to meagan and said she could have it. (the new album gets released in the states on feb 22) then i went temperarily deaf cause a girl near me screamed her heart out cause she won.
joking or not it's messed up to say that you'll go and beat the girl up and steal her ticket to meet the band. that seems like sore-loser-ness. i told them not to. threatened them with leaving them in baltimore so they could walk home if they acted on that.
i found a spot near the very edge of the stage with the bass speaker right in front of me.
it would have been a good spot but the photographers kept going back and forth and i had to move so they could go past. the security guy was an ASS. he kept blocking my view then he'd talk to some guy bout his plans with some girl later while the bands were playing. i didn't care when he did it during the first two bands but when he did it during Diru it was HIGHLY ANNOYING!! but i'm happy i got to see them. it was great they opened up with GDS(? i think that's what it was) it was fun chanting. i don't remember the order (or all the songs) but they played GDS, aggitated screams of maggots, the final, obscure (according to russell one girl nearly puked when she saw bits of obscure's PV), new age culture, cleaver sleazoid, ryojoku no ame, saku, dead tree (kyo beat up the inside of his cheeks to make himself bleed), beautiful dirt and i can't remember the rest of the songs. it doesn't help the mic died twice while kyo was singing. singing along was fun! X3 X3 kyo shirtless is an awesome sight. ^_^ XD he's a bit skinnier then i thought he was. but awesome none the less. toshi kept his back towards me thru most of it T-T die was pretty much infront of me. shinya hid behind his beastly drums (the other two bands drums sets looked very sad when compared to shinya's) and kyo stayed near the center and kaoru stayed on the other side thru most of it. he came over and was on the edge of the stage >.< i was a foot or two away from being able to touch his awesome-ness. T-T i think one girl got to touch his guitar (lucky her). at one point kyo took bout two water bottles and dumped the water on his head then headbanged and it was niffty cause you could see the water flying off. there were parts when the others didn't play and kyo just sang/made noise but it was still niffty. XD X3 kyo did his glare thingy! ^-^ XD
supposedly one girl had a heart attack during the concert (mom said she probably fainted) and russell had to stop people from moving so she didn't get trampuled.
XD XD i had so much fun! it was incredible! ^_^ XD
after the show i asked meagan and russell what they thought and both had tons of fun and nearly/if not did lose their voice due to too much screaming. XD
they say i didn't headbang but i did... during obsure. i came to see the band i can't see them if i'm busy headbanging. can always headbang when listening to the cd. XD
i didn't see anything interesting at the merch booth so i left and went to the parking garage and paid for parking then went to warm the car up. almost got lost trying to get back on to the highway. mapquest said head some direction to get to something-or-other. how am i supposed to know which direction that is. i don't carry a compass.
we were hungry sowe got back on the highway and took one of the food exits to get food. we ended up at mc donalds... again. we got our food then sat in the parking lot eating it. russell did the "inward scream" (a.k.a. inhaling really deeply real fast) and scared the crap out of meagan while i laughed my ass off. XD we got to meagan's place round 3 or 4 something AM. dropped her off then dropped russell off then i went home.
to find that my mom needed to borrow my car cause her battery died. she came home before i had to go to work. we gave her car a jump and she went and got the battery changed. so that was the end of that. ^_^
i wanna go see Diru live again. i'm tempted to use my free plane ticket to go do so. XD
